Australian Marcos Ambrose will race a Ferrari for the first time when he competes in the 2010 24H Dubai in just over a month from now.

The North Carolina based Tasmanian is set to race for the famed AF Corse team in a GT2-spec Ferrari 430.

The Italian squad won both the drivers and teams titles in the GT2 class of the FIA GT Championship for three years running from 2006 to 2008.

Ambrose will drive alongside Michael Waltrip Racing co-owners Michael Waltrip and Robert Kauffman, who prepare Ambrose’s NASCAR program as a customer entry.

The USA based trio will also be joined by Portugal’s Rui Aguas and Italy’s Niki Cadei in a five-driver line-up.

The Italian thoroughbred will be fighting for SP2 GT3A class honours against a dose of Australian ‘muscle’, with Mal Rose again entering his ex-Garry Rogers Motorsport V8 Supercar in the event, driven by himself and fellow Australian businessmen Peter Leemhius and Tony Alford.
