2010 dawned with great expectation for reigning Group A world #2 Brooke Dixon, the 21-year old was coming off her best season to date, and was the only driver outside of reigning world and Australian champion Slade Stanley to win a major event on Australian soil last year.
“That was my best year to date, and to finish with the runners-up title at the UIM World Championships was the icing on the cake,” Brooke beamed.
“Sadly though we’ve endured a tough start to this year with a few mechanical issues in the opening rounds, possibly as a reflection of the hard work the engine did through the bulk of the 2009 Continental Tyres national series and the world titles.”
Despite the frustration of a DNF at the opening round at Temora after running second in the pre-event ‘Dash 4 Cash’ the day prior, Brooke recovered strongly with third at the annual Griffith Easter event under lights, setting up an exciting second half of the season.
Adding to that excitement too during the often low-key mid-season break, was the announcement that Hi-Tec Oil Traders had signed on as a corporate partner to the True Blue team in support of Brooke’s title aspirations this season.

Hi-Tec are no strangers to the top end of Australian motorsport having been involved in the cut and thrust of V8 Supercars in 2009 with Kelly Racing, and in 2010, are also involved with another ‘first lady’ of motorsport, former Formula 3 race winner, and XA Falcon Touring Car Masters competitor, Leanne Tander.

2009 was a fantastic year for our team. We started off with Nathan Pretty taking the world title win in New Zealand, and I had two victories (from six rounds) in the national championships to set ourselves up for the 2009 world title race in Australia late last season. Based on our performances during the Continental Tyres Australian Championships, I expected we’d be in the top five in the world, but to finish the two round series in equal second, was amazing, and gave us great momentum to start this year.
Sadly, our start to this season has been less than perfect, but we’re still in title contention, and the off-season break has given us the chance to freshen everything up after a hectic close to 2009. We’re also buoyed by the involvement of Hi-Tec Oils who are renowned for their support of motorsport, and for the quality of their products, to have them join our team at this special time in my career is all the motivation I need.. I can’t wait for the next round!
