The 2010 6 Hour will mark not only the resurgence of one of Australia’s premier races but also the first time that this event will run under the banner of an Australian Championship having recently been awarded Australian Title status.
The 2010 6 Hour will be held at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit over the weekend of December 3rd - 5th 2010. The 6 Hour will always be a adrenalin fuelled, action packed race and with the success of the 2009 event at Sydney's Oran Park Raceway and with Australian Championship status, the 2010 event is shaping up to be even more of a spectacle.
Championship... Yes, within one short year, Motorcycling Australia has granted the James Spence promoted event as an Australian Championship. The importance of Endurance racing in Australia has been underlined not only by the support of Motorcycling Australia but also the on-going commitment by lubricant giant, Bel-Ray. The diverse lubrication company confront the demands of endurance with only the highest quality lubricants and in doing so have provided substantial investment to the Australian Endurance Championship, which is perfect synergy.
Over 40 teams will be vying to go down in history as the winner of the first ever Australian Endurance title at Phillip Island on December 5th as well as take home their share of the $45,000 in cash, contingency and prizes on offer.
The support cast will be out in force as the final round of the National BEARS Championship comes down to the wire at Phillip Island along with Australia’s youngsters starring in the MRRDA championship and if that’s not enough adrenalin, the terrifyingly terrific Australian Sidecar Championship.
The 6 Hour will commence with the traditional Le Mans style start at 10.30am with none other than 6 Hour legend and Grand Prix hero Kevin Magee giving the riders their starting orders.
