Hi-Tec Oils is an industry leader in the delivery of lubricants for industrial and transport applications across Australia, however whilst keeping one eye on the ongoing development of the business. Hi-Tec Oils CEO George Gambino relishes the opportunity to mix business with pleasure through his investment in a variety of different motorsport disciplines, which now includes ski racing thanks to the announcement of Hi-Tec Oils’ involvement with the Unlimited Class as part of the 2010/2011 Ski Racing Australia season.

Hi-Tec Oils has been involved in a number of motorsport categories over the years, from Darren Morgan’s Top Fuel dragster, to V8 Supercars with Kelly Racing [2009] and Dick Johnson Racing [Jonathon Webb - 2010], in Sprintcars with Robbie Farr, V8 Superboats with emerging star Brooke Dixon, with Leanne Tander (wife of Bathurst winner Garth) in the Touring Car Masters and in off road, just to name a few..

“We’re as passionate about our product as these competitors are about racing,” George Gambino admitted. “I also get a lot of personal pleasure out of being involved in motorsport because I’m also a fan. That said, I have also conducted a lot of business at events over the years, and that increased business has allowed me to increase my involvement, so I see that as a real win-win for both parties.”

Hi-Tec’s latest investment in motorsport is ski racing, one of Australia’s leading summertime leisure pursuits and an emerging powerhouse themselves in the motorsport world.

“We’re very happy to be involved in ski racing,” George acknowledged. “It’s a traditional Australian summertime activity, and aside from the competition it has such a strong family element, which is great for a sport that is traditionally focused on guys and their mates.

“From our perspective to put a toe in the water with the Unlimited Class - a category for seriously passionate competitors who want the best out of their boats - it’s a perfect fit. Like them, they aspire to be the best, as we do, but we’re both easing ourselves into it without investing all that we have - I like the synergy of that.

“The first event for us will be in our own backyard - the Sydney Bridge to Bridge - and I’m excited to come and see one of ski racing’s traditional classic events and to meet people that are so passionate about the sport.”

There are 15 Unlimited inboard teams and six Unlimited outboards entered for the Sydney Bridge, many of whom are in outright contention. They include;
