Luke Ellery confirms 2011 US F2000 entry
Three time Victorian Formula Ford Champ, Luke Ellery has confirmed he has signed with JDC Motorsports in the US for an attack on the 2011 F2000 National Championship.
The young Australian made his American debut with the team last season at Road Atlanta, and experienced great success straight off the bat. Ellery placed his JDC Motorsports Van Dieman on the front row of the grid, and led the field through the first lap until a coolant leak ended his race prematurely. He backed up that effort in the final race of the weekend, with a thrilling charge to finish third after starting down the field.
Ellery says that his aim is for the championship this year and he is determined to continue where he left off in 2010.
“We had such a great debut at the end of last year, so it was only natural to jump on a plane and aim for wins this year. The amount of work that has gone into raising money to do that has been huge, my family and friends have stuck together and we have got something together for the first few rounds of the championship.” Ellery acknowledged.
The Victorian will fly stateside for the first race in a matter of weeks, participating at the famous Sebring circuit in Florida on March the 17-18. He will then head across to St Petersburg for the famous Street Grand Prix on March 26-27.
