Hi-Tec Oils World Series Sprintcars Set To Make History In Dubbo
After months of planning and hard work, the Morris Park Promotions team at 93.5 StarFM Stadium Dubbo is set to host Round 2 of Hi-Tec Oils World Series Sprintcars this Saturday night.
The New South Wales town has never hosted a World Series Sprintcars round before and will be pulling out all the stops to ensure Saturday December 3 is a night to remember.
No less than 30 cars have nominated for the marquee event, including round 1 winner and 2010 Australian Sprintcar Champion, James McFadden.
McFadden won a thrilling feature race in Brisbane after a furious battle with Jason Johnson. The NQ25 pilot spent 15 laps going toe-to-toe with his American rival before a passing attempt late in the race forced Johnson wide and into David Murcott's Q83 car, eliminating both drivers. McFadden survived and took the chequered flag 4 laps later.
Despite helping HM Racing capture last season's team championship, Johnson is still seeking his first WSS Driver Championship. The Louisiana native has incredible talent and speed, and will no doubt be determined to make up ground on the series leaders when he arrives in Dubbo.
Current Australian and 8-time World Series Sprintcars Champion, Brooke Tatnell will be looking to regain form in Dubbo after a 7th place B Main finish in round 1. The Krikke Motorsport crew have spent the week preparing a new car for Tatnell who will be hungry to make up lost ground.
Young guns Steven Lines and Shaun Dobson will also both be looking to bounce back from disappointment in Brisbane.
Lines' brand new Monster Energy Monte Motorsports W7 car was badly damaged in 2 separate incidents during the series opener, and with such high expectations for the 2nd year contracted driver, the pressure will be on.
Dobson failed to even complete a lap in Brisbane; the Titan Garages Q36 car slammed into the concrete barrier as the lights turned green in heat racing, ending the team's night prematurely.
Series veterans Max Dumesny and Trevor Green impressed at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway and were rewarded with valuable early season points. Both will be looking to continue their strong form and be in the hunt for an A Main victory in Dubbo.
The 25th Anniversary season of Hi-Tec Oils World Series Sprintcars certainly boasts one of the most competitive contracted driver lineups in history, but a talented group of nominations, including Dubbo local Jeremy Cross, will be driving to spoil their party.
One of the best young talent's on Australian soil, Cross is in fine form heading to Dubbo. After a string of strong results on the east coast prior to the season, the N39 machine recorded a heat win in Brisbane and eventually placed 14th in the A Main feature race. With local knowledge and natural pace on his side, Cross has the ability to mix it up with the big boys.
Alongside Cross will be Sydney's Ian Madsen and Glen Saville, Queensland hard chargers Andrew Scheuerle, Cameron Gessner and Peter Lack plus Sprintcar legend, Garry Brazier.
Brazier is a 6-time Australian Sprintcar Champion and former WSS winner eager to return to the winner's circle. Brazier is unbeatable when at his best, and his talent is sure to threaten the race favourites at the business end of the night.
Round 1 of the Hi-Tec Oils World Series Sprintcars season brought some of the best wheel-to-wheel action sprintcar racing has to offer, and the drama is sure to carry over to round 2 in a night of racing not to be missed.
Be a part of history at 93.5 StarFM Dubbo Speedway this Saturday night as the almighty roar of World Series Sprintcars rolls through Dubbo.
