[WSS] Schatz dominates Archerfield
Donny Schatz was just too damn good for his rivals tonight, claiming the win in the 50 lap $20,000 to win Australian Open (Round Nine of Hi-Tec Oils World Series Sprintcars) at Supercheap Autos Archerfield Speedway. In doing so Schatz became the fourth different winner in nine rounds held so far.
American Jason Johnson made a jubilant return to victory lane in tonight’s 20 lap preliminary A-Main of the Australian Open at Supercheap Auto Archerfield Speedway, leading home Donny Schatz in second and James McFadden third in the first of two nights for Round Nine of the Hi-Tec Oils World Series Sprintcars Championship.

On paper it seems almost impossible, but then Alice Springs born Queensland based James McFadden is not an ‘on paper kinda guy’ and so the idea of winning six WSS main events from eight starts in a field of this year’s calibre is certainly not out of his mind space.

Shaun Dobson has withdrawn from the Titan Racing Team. The livewire Tasmanian teenager spoke with the team this morning and advised that he would no longer be steering the #36 Titan Garages / Oven U Maxim, effective immediately.
The winning streak of James McFadden seemingly knows no bounds. At Avalon Raceway Lara last night he scored his fifth win from seven rounds in the 2011/2012 Hi-Tec Oils World Series Sprintcars Championship, cleaning house and passing his arch rival Brooke Tatnell to win the 35 lap Speedweek A-Main.
If tonight’s third round of the WSS Speedweek competition at Borderline Speedway Mt. Gambier was an episode of Sesame Street, it would have surely been ‘brought to you by the letter J and the number 25. James McFadden that is, in #25.
[WSS] Brazier storms Murray Bridge
Garry Brazier still has plenty to give the sport of Sprintcar Racing, and tonight the 6 times Australian Champion showed why he’s still a force to be reckoned with in taking out the 35 lap A-Main for Round Two of the WSS Speedweek Series at Murray Machining & Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway.
James McFadden accounted for a classy field of 42 entrants at Adelaide’s Speedway City in winning the fourth round of the Hi-Tec Oils World Series Sprintcars Championship - it’s his third win in four rounds held so far.
[WSS] Nominations for Speed Week
Nominations continue to pile up for the 2011/12 Hi-Tec Oils World Series Sprintcars Speedweek, including Sprintcar legend, Garry Brazier.
Brazier, a former WSS Champion and 6-time Australian Sprintcar Champion, has never before contested the Speedweek mini-series starting on Boxing Day at Speedway City.
Prior to this season James McFadden had never won a World Series Sprintcars A-Main, but three rounds into the 2011/2012 tournament the livewire Queensland based Northern Territorian has two victories under his belt from three starts.
