[V8SC] Tough WA weekend for Holdsworth
The latest round of the V8 Supercar Series was held at Barbagallo Raceway in Perth. It was an action packed weekend…. great for the spectators, but not so much for the GRM team.
It seemed strange to be back at Phillip Island again after competing there just weeks ago for the first of the endurance events.
After coming down from a huge high at Bathurst I headed north to compete at what I consider to be the most challenging circuits on the V8 calendar, Surfers Paradise.
Following a disappointing round at Phillip Island our team was keen to redeem a bundle of points at the biggest race of the year, the “Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000”.
The endurance season has started and to kick it off was the Phillip Island 500.
It was another tough weekend for GRM at the last round of the V8 Supercar Series at Sandown Raceway.
It was V8 Supercars’ first visit to the Townsville street circuit and it turned out to be, in my opinion, the biggest and best event so far on the 2009 series calendar!
Next stop …. Darwin, and what a relief it was to finally arrive where the sun is shining and it’s nice and warm!
Having now been full-time with the team for four seasons, it was very satisfying to clock up my 50th V8 Supercar round start in Tasmania at the weekend.
There’s no hiding it, last weekend was one I’d like to forget. I came to Winton with high hopes of continuing my championship charge. Being my home track, I thought we had a very realistic chance of winning.
I have to admit, in the lead up to Hamilton, I was feeling pretty confident about having another solid weekend.
Two street races in two weeks is one hell of a way to start a season!
Finally we’re back into gear and racing again for another season, and I couldn’t think of a better place to kick off than the Clipsal 500.
After a long break, it is almost that time again to get revved up for the start of another V8 season and I am absolutely edging to get back into it!! I feel re-energized and ready to get back in the race car and work towards winning some races in ‘09’.
What a year! The final race of 2008… Now all that is left is the last round ever at Oran Park and in fact where I took out my first ever V8 Supercar round win!
[V8SC] Holdsworth returns fire!
Heading into Symmons Plains for the penultimate round of the 2008 V8 Supercar Championship series, Lee Holdsworth's frame of mind matched that of 28 of his peers - victory..
