Karl Reindler’s debut into the V8 Supercar Championship Series at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi last weekend provided the 24-year old Perth resident with a little bit of everything. From a strong opening practice session, to mechanical failure, and a drive back through the field in the final race to a 23rd finishing position, it really was a character building weekend.

The team at Wilson Security Racing faced what was certainly there most disappointing outing for the 2009 season on the weekend at Darwin. Struggling for consistency and pace they never really had a handle on things resulting in poor qualifying and their race results falling well below expectations after their podium and top ten finishes of the previous round.
Saturday was forgettable, although the education that came from the day for the team enabled everyone in the garage to appreciate the data we had for Sunday. The information was to become all important to the result for the Day. The Team were on edge but ready to redeem themselves for the mistakes and wretched luck that had followed them across the previous days.
